Dear Parents

Welcome back! I trust that you enjoyed the winter break and are back into the school routine, ready for the third term. We are very thankful to those who generously enabled us to donate 122 blankets to the Red Cross Disaster Relief. The blankets were certainly welcomed during these cold and wet winter days.

Thank you to Lidia and the Holiday Care staff for providing a fun filled programme for the children. There were lots of children who attended – evidence of a good time?

We congratulate Leone on her marriage and wish the newlywed couple love and happiness in the years ahead. She is now Mrs Kelly. Susan has returned and baby Rhys is doing well. It is not always easy to return from maternity leave but we are happy to have her back.

Well, what does everyone think of our smart “supa dupa” new blinds? They are going to make life a lot easier through the cold weather and we love them already!!! We are pleased and thank Norman Henshilhood for the new paved parking area and walkway. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the construction.

Entry/exit to NHHS/Monterey

In an attempt to alleviate traffic congestion in and around the school, Norman Henshilwood will be changing the flow of traffic from Monday 27 July. The entrance gate will be the second gate on Denbigh Road. On entering all drivers will turn immediately right. NHHS parents will keep to the right to drop off. Monterey parents need to veer to the left to turn left and proceed down past the school building. On exiting, our parents need to drive past the tennis courts and before the entrance gate turn left, through the top car park and then right out of the exit gate (old entrance gates). NHHS has had advice from traffic flow experts who say that the figure of 8 formation works well. Initially it will be slower until everybody gets used to it. We ask for your patience during this time.
